Classical elegance and Romantic revolution: Mozart and Beethoven, two masters of Viennese Classical Music
Saturday 23 March 2019

The musician and broadcaster, Sandy Burnett, will be presenting our Special Interest Day on Saturday 23 March at the Banstead Community Hall.  He will be taking a look at two of the great figures of classical music to have emerged from late eighteenth-century Vienna:  Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.  We will hear about these two composers, their greatest works and the extraordinary culture of the late eighteenth century Vienna that produced them – a time, and a place, where the string quartet was king.

The day will follow our usual format starting with coffee at 9.30 am and finishing at 3.00 pm.  There will be two lectures in the morning followed by a buffet lunch with wine or a soft drink and then the final lecture in the afternoon.

Tickets cost £33 and will be on sale at our January meeting.
